At China Star, our tempered glass production includes a critical process to mitigate the risk of "spontaneous breakage," a common issue in the industry where glass breaks without direct external influence. This phenomenon can occur at any stage, from tempering to storage, transportation, installation, and usage.

To address this, we subject our tempered glass to a specialized inspection known as the Heat Soak Test (HST), also known as homogenization treatment or "triggering." During the HST, the tempered glass is heated in a homogenizing furnace to a temperature of 290°C±10°C for a specified duration. This process accelerates the phase transition of any colorless, transparent nickel sulfide (NiS) present in the glass, promoting rapid expansion and reducing the risk of breakage.

By performing the heat soak treatment, we significantly lower the spontaneous breakage rate of our tempered glass to about one in ten thousand. While this treatment does not entirely eliminate the possibility of spontaneous breakage, it substantially decreases the chance of it occurring, ensuring our products are safer and more reliable for our customers.
