Wired glass, also known as safety glass, is a type of glass that is made by embedding a roll of metal wire mesh linto the still-molten side of the glass ribbon while it is being produced. This process involves passing the glass and wire mesh through upper and lower rollers to create wired glass.
One of the key features of wired glass is its ability to withstand high temperatures and resist explosions during combustion. When wired glass shatters, it does not produce sharp shards, which can prevent injuries. Additionally, wired glass is fire-resistant and can act as a barrier against spreading flames in the event of a fire.
The wire mesh inside the glass also provides anti-theft properties by preventing glass cutting. These features make wired glass ideal for use in buildings where safety and security are top concerns.
